Why do you think that Ponyboy was thinking about Johnny so much when he died?
I think that Ponyboy was still thinking about Johnny because he was his best friend. Johnny and Ponyboy really cared about each other, even though they weren’t brothers. It really hurt Ponyboy and the rest of his gang when Johnny died because they were all really close.

I think Ponyboy thought about Johnny so much was because they were best friends. Also staying together in the church got them to know each other and become better friends. Another thing is Johnny had saved Ponyboy’s life by killing Bob. They were in that situation because Johnny had saved Ponyboy. Last of all, I would be very sad if my best friend suddenly died right in front of my eyes. It would be hard for me to stop thinking about him.
Ponyboy could not stop thinking about Johnny, because they were such good friends. They were alike in many ways, Pony and Johnny both liked to read. Their favorite book was Gone with the Wind. They were together in the church after Johnny killed Bob. The time they spent there together gave them a new understanding of each other and their friendship.
