I don't think that Ponyboy fits in with the Greasers. The rest of most of the Greasers are mean to others. Ponyboy is sometimes mean to others but he does not enjoy being mean when the rest of the gang likes to hurt others. Also Ponyboy is educated while most of the other gang members are dropouts. I believe that if Ponyboy wasn't brothers with Soda or Darry he wouldn't fit in with the gang.
I agree with Matt I do not think that Ponyboy fits in with the greasers. He says in the beginning of the book that he likes Paul Newman’s hair and wished he had hair like that and not greased. I agree that Ponyboy is not as mean as the other greasers. I think that there are two reasons for this one is that Ponyboys parents died when he was young and Darry (his brother) doesn’t want him getting into trouble and fighting. My other reason is that Ponyboy is the youngest Greaser he is only 14 years old. This might make him scared of fighting.
I do not think that Ponyboy fits in with the other greasers. One reason for this is that he is not as old as the other members in his gang. For this reason I think that the other guys in the gang do not respect him as much as they do respect the older members. Also, Ponyboy does not seem to like fighting and violence as much as much as his brothers or the other gang members. Thirdly, Ponyboy seems sensitive and the other greasers seem clod and mean. Ponyboy watches sunsets which none of the other members would even think of doing. Also, none of the other greasers ever show fear and if Ponyboy is scared, he lets someone know like with his dream. If it were Two-bit who had had the dream, he would not have told anyone.
