Do you think Johnny should have killed Bob or not? Or do you think he should have stabbed Bob where it wouldn't have killed him but hurt him so Johnny and Ponyboy could have ran?
I think that Johnny made a good choise killing Bob because it scared the socs away and gave Pony and Johnny time to run. If he hadent have done that the socs would have gathered up their gang and probably killed Pony and Johnny for revenge. This would only be a good idea in the situation that Pony and Johnny were in.
I think Johnny should have killed Bob because if he had not killed the Bob Ponyboy could have possibly drowned and johnny was about to get jumped. I think Johnny killed the soc member as an act of self-defense.
I think it was the right and heroic action the Johnny did. David, one of the Socs was trying to kill Ponyboy. Killing Bob was out of selfe-defense and saving Ponyboy. Also Bob had almost killed Johnny before and Johnny had gotten him back.
I think that Johnny was too overwhelmed to think of whether or not he should kill him or just stab him. I think that he made the right choice because now there is one less Soc or problem to worry about. It would've probably ended up, Bob dieing or (if Johnny hadn't killed him but just stabbed him) later on in the story Bob killing Ponyboy and Johnny. Johnny didn't want his friend to die...he didn't want his self to die.
I think that Johnny killing Bob was irresponsible and a very a bad choice. Now, Johnny and Ponyboy have to run away for ever, with a criminal record. I think that he should have done something to stop Ponyboy from drowning by fighting but not by killing Bob. Or maybe he was only trying to hurt him and not meaning to kill him. Since he has never used a knife before, he probably didn’t know that a switchblade could do such bad things if you use it dangerously. But now that I look at the other choice, of him to not do anything and watch Ponyboy drown, is also a bad choice too because he would have to live without one of his best friends along with the guilt of not taking action. And once Bob had killed Ponyboy, they would have hurt him too and he would have no one to help him. I think Johnny should have used a less violent way of self defense and stabbed Bob in a place where you cannot die to save Ponyboy’s life.
Johnny did not have a choice. Since the Socs were drowning Ponyboy, he had to have distracted them or Ponyboy would die from drowning. Although it was needed, it could also be caused by all the anger that was locked up inside Johnny from his abusive parents. He could have used this chance to vent his anger. Wether Johnny ment to do it or not, I believe that is was a good choice.
I think that Johnny wasn’t so sure about what was going on at the moment when Bob was hurting Ponyboy, and I don’t think that he was really thinking about what would happen if he killed Bob. I think that Johnny was just trying to save Ponyboy. However, I think that Johnny did the right thing about killing Bob because if he didn’t, he would’ve come back and could’ve hurt Johnny and Ponyboy even more.
I think that Johnny made the wrong choice of killing Bob. One because in order to get away he didn't have to kill him he could of just hurt him and ran. Now that he killed him the police are chasing him and Ponyboy for murder. But it did show his gang that he had the guts to do what he did. Also he made sure that Ponyboy didn't die. With the pros and cons Johnny made the wrong choice.
